Key Responsibilities
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to drive motor vehicles to transport passengers and other items (e.g. mail and documents).
Driving a vehicle; Do routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle and report defects; Complete the required and prescribed records and logbooks with regards to the vehicle and the goods handled; Render a clerical support/messenger service; Handle library material.
Requirements
Junior Certificate (Grade 10) or equivalent qualification; A minimum of 1 year relevant experience; A valid code 10 (or higher) driving licence with a valid professional Driving Permit (PrDP). Able to carry heavy boxes to load vehicles.
Knowledge of the following: Driving a code 10 truck and medium to light type vehicles; Road rules; Vehicle maintenance. Skills in the following: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc); Communication skills (written and verbal); Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
