About PPC
The full form of PPC in cement is Portland Pozzolana Cement. PPC is a type of blended cement comprising Portland clinker, pozzolana particles and gypsum in certain specific proportions. Clinker are pebble-sized particles formed by intimately grounding limestone and clay and heating it in kilns at high temperatures.
Key Responsibilities
To assist qualified artisans in response to planned and un-planned work in order to ensure maximum plant availability, Including Maintance and Operating a Sweeper.
- To maintain high levels of availability, reliability and serviceability of plant, equipment and tools through strict application of company maintenance practices, principles and procedures:
- Achieve acceptable service quality
- Comply with all approved business processes and Engineering Standards
- Comply with all relevant legislative standards
- Optimise asset performance (ability of plant and equipment to produce at capacity)
- Optimise assess usage (availability & reliability)
- Compliance to relevant legal requirements and safe operation of plant, equipment and tools.
- To ensure high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers:
- Satisfy customer needs
- No valid customer complaints
- Application of company best practices
- Embrace Jabali principles
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- Relevant qualification from an Accredited Service Provider on N2 (Machine Handyman’s course)
- Valid driver’s license will be an advantage
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
- 1 year relevant Machine Handyman experience in a Heavy Industrial/Mining environment
- Previous experience in the mechanical field will be advantageous
- Forklift license will be an advantage
BEHAVIOURAL/OTHER COMPETENCE
- Strong inclination to root cause identification and problem solving
- Pro-active, self-disciplined and solution driven
- Ability to adapt to harsh working environments
- Not afraid of heights
