The core mandate of the Department is to improve the health status of the population, improve health services, secure better value for money, ensure effective organisation, and provide integrated services and programmes that promote and protect healthy, quality and sustainable livelihoods for poor, vulnerable and marginalised groups in society.
The Department’s strategic goals are improved health and well-being, with an emphasis on vulnerable groups; reduction in the rate of new HIV infections by 50% in youth, adults and babies, and reduction in the number of deaths from TB and AIDS by 20%; increased efficiency of service implementation; human capital management and development for better health outcomes; and organisational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of normal and therapeutic diets as per standardised recipes. Portioning of meals according to the ration scale and prescription. Apply hygiene and safety measures in the factory according to HACCP rules and OHS standards. Lifting of heavy Foodservice equipment. Be responsible for all allocated resources. Be able to relieve in all areas of the CookFreeze factory when required. Must be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs available.
Requirements
NQF Level 2 or Grade 10 or equivalent qualification. Food Service experience in a clinical/hospital environment will be an added advantage. Priorities will be given to interns EPWP/Interns. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Be willing to work in a team and under stressful conditions. Must be able to work weekends, nightshift and Public holidays.
