Global Forwarding Freight – South Africa has an opening for an Ocean Freight Export Controller where you will co-ordinate, control, plan, and manage all aspects within the export procedure and be a vital link within the supply chain process.
In this Ocean Freight Export Controller position:
- You will arrange booking based on customer requirements with various nominated third parties to ensure customer needs are met.
- You will process customer documentation within a required timeframe in accordance with third party and local requirements i.e., customs, shipping lines.
- You will co-ordinate movement of cargo- within required/stipulated time frame in order to meet customer needs.
- You will manage and monitor all parties within the supply chain as well as develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
- You will support Operations Supervisor with the implementation of new/change systems, directives, and distribution of information to staff.
- You will book shipment with shipping line/co-loader based on customer SLI and register shipment on internal system.
- You will arrange customs clearance based on customer documentation and arrange collection/packing of customer cargo.
- You will supply shipping line with bill of lading instructions and produce cargo dues through portent.
- You will send SOB/Pre alert to customer/destination offices.
- You will invoice shipment based on estimate or rate agreements and supply estimates on customer request.
- You will produce thorough and accurate documentation ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance to regulations.
- You will participate within the department with regards to industry or regulation changes.
- You will know and adhere to Customs rules and regulations, Country rules and regulations both local and destination.
- You will know the Hazardous Process.
Requirements
- 5 years’ related working experience in OFR in a freight forwarding environment.
- Must have a matric
- Tertiary Education including diploma is an advantage
- Regulations knowledge – SARS, road transport
- Cargowise experience
- Good communication skills both written and spoken
