Key Responsibilities
Swiss Re is looking for a Client Markets intern to take part in the Middle East and Africa Life and Health team. The team is responsible for managing key insurance clients and stakeholders across various markets and to present the Swiss Re value proposition in the right players at the right time.
About the opportunity
The role will be working directly with the Client Markets team in Cape Town as well as collaborating with other functions and departments including local underwriting, actuarial, claims, accounting and finance teams.
A successful candidate must be able to work at a high standard on their own as well as in a variety of project teams. They also will ensure good communication and within the Client Markets team as well as other local functions they work with.
Tasks to be performed could include:
• Assist with the development of client, client relationship, strategy and action plans
• Working with Excell models/code and data to price employee group schemes
• Monitor the Insurance and reinsurance industry for market trends and developments including competitor intelligence.
• Liaise with the Business Unit & local peers to ensure complete and accurate information is captured from existing systems
• Provide services to internal customers (ad-hoc analyses, client meeting presentations, stakeholder consulting)
• Collaborate with specialists to develop innovative solutions to the client needs
• Assist with internal scheduling and planning for the Client Markets team across the Life and Health
Requirements
• Degree in Mathematics or Statistics
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, hardworking, analytical and proactive
• Able to work well with individuals at all levels within the organization and be able to articulate ideas
• Fluent in English
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented approach
